The Art of the Deal with the Devil

If you’re wondering why your grocery bill is about to double, don’t look at the supply chain. Look at the Strait of Hormuz.

We are eight days into "Operation Epic Fury", a name that sounds less like a military strategy and more like a monster truck rally, and the "winning" is getting expensive. Oil just cracked $90 a barrel. The global economy is shaking like a leaf. And what is the White House’s response? A "Shield of the Americas" summit in Miami, where President Trump is currently lecturing Latin American leaders about "loyalty" while his own administration rots from the inside out.

Let’s talk about that rot. Yesterday, we learned that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem didn’t just lose her job; she lost her cover. A bombshell investigation by ProPublica revealed that she misled Congress about her top aide, Corey Lewandowski, and his sticky fingers in DHS contracts. This is the "law and order" administration? They are running the Department of Homeland Security like a family business in a mob movie. They fire Noem not because she was incompetent, though, Lord knows, she was, but because she got caught grifting the wrong way.

And while the domestic grift continues, the foreign policy incoherence is reaching impressive new heights.

Here is a fact that should make your head spin: The Trump administration just waived sanctions to allow India to buy Russian oil. You read that right. At the exact same moment we are bombing Iran to "stabilize" the Middle East, we are giving Vladimir Putin a financial lifeline to continue his slaughter in Ukraine. We are fighting a war on one side of the globe while funding the aggressor on the other. It’s not 4D chess; it’s 1D checkers, and we’re eating the pieces.

The "adults in the room" are gone. In their place, we have a President who thinks he can bomb Tehran into submission while holding a pep rally in Florida. We have an Israeli government expanding strikes into Lebanon, displacing thousands, while our State Department issues press releases about "containment." Containment? The fire has jumped the highway, folks.

And let’s not forget the human cost, which this administration treats as a nuisance. In Peru, a nightclub bombing has injured 33 people, a direct blowback from the chaos we are stoking. In the Indian Ocean, we just sank an Iranian frigate, killing dozens of sailors who were likely conscripts.

This isn't a strategy. It’s a demolition derby.

We are watching the systematic dismantling of American credibility, funded by your tax dollars and managed by people who couldn't get a security clearance in a sane timeline. One part of me wants to demand hearings. The cynic in me knows they’d just lie under oath anyway.

Welcome to the new world order. Same as the old one, but with higher gas prices and dumber lies.
